Adoption Information

Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our foster pets. It is NCHS’s mission to place our animals in safe, secure and loving homes that will offer them a LIFETIME commitment of love and proper care.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees include: Veterinary exam, spay/neuter, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, flea/tick treatment, Aids/Leukemia testing (felines) and Heartworm test (canine).
Dogs/Puppies: $200 and up
Fees vary depending on the age, size and breed of dog you are adopting.
Cats/Kittens: $35-$100
2 For 1! To encourage keeping siblings and bonded pairs together, the adoption fee will be waived for one if two cats/kittens are adopted together.

There are so benefits to adopting an older animal – best of all, you already know what their personality is – a puppy or kitten may change as they mature. Most of our adults are already house trained and many of them have already learned basic obedience skills. Also, please consider adopting a “plain-wrapper” companion!  Little dogs and fuzzy kittens are the first to be adopted, while big dogs and tabby cats wait the longest to find their forever homes. This is unfortunate because sometimes the best love and joy comes in a plain wrapper package!

NOTE: The applications below are preliminary adoption forms only. Filling one out does not commit you, nor does it guarantee adoption.
